I have never heard of the company but the Sub Zero Pittsburgh guitar looks good and it would be interesting to see how it plays because, judging from the specification, you get quite a lot of guitar for your money.
As I said above I have never heard of Sub Zero guitars before and a quick search of the internet has not been particularly enlightening. However, I received an email from Gear 4 Music recently which mentioned the Sub Zero Pittsburgh guitar and the picture really whetted my appetite. As yet I have not managed to get my hands on one to try it out but the spec of the guitar is detailed below and certainly looks good.
The Sub Zero Pittsburgh guitar is a rather cool looking super strat style guitar. The body is made from alder and is topped with a great looking piece of flamed maple. Finished in either a transparent amber or transparent blue finish and edged with a cream and tortoise shell binding the build quality of the Sub Zero Pittsburgh guitar looks fantastic.
The 24 fret 3 piece neck is made from Canadian maple and is cut with a modern ultra thin profile and designed for comfort and speed. The maple neck is finished off with an ebony fretboard which is used to provide a super fast playing surface. Everything about the neck is designed for comfort and speed so if you are a fret shredder then this guitar might just suit your requirements.
In terms of the electrics and hardware the Sub Zero Pittsburgh guitar is fitted with two EMG humbuckers. In the bridge position you have the EMG 81 and there is an EMG 85 in the neck position. This represents the classic pickup combination made famous by Zakk Wylde so should deliver a solid rock sound with bags of tonal options. The pickups are accessed through a 3 way selector switch and there is a master volume and tone knobs for maximum on-board sound control.

Armed with two EMG humbuckers and a licensed Floyd Rose double locking tremolo unit this is a high spec affordable guitar.
If you like your guitars armed with a Floyd Rose tremolo then the Sub Zero Pittsburgh guitar will not disappoint. The bridge is a licensed Floyd Rose double locking tremolo unit which provides excellent tuning stability if you like a bit of whammy bar action.
All in all the Sub Zero Pittsburgh guitar looks a quality instrument and for just £299.99 you get a lot of guitar for your money. However, if you wanted any more reason to give this guitar a try then the offer of a free Digitech iStomp pedal worth £99 should prove to be an attractive sweetener.
The Digitech iStomp pedal is a fantastic innovation allowing you to buy one pedal and download different pedal effects through your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.
By going to the Digitech iStomp App Shop you can download various pedal effects to your iStomp pedal from distortion to reverb, delay to chorus or phaser to tube overdrive. You get a whole host of Digitech guitar effects at your fingertips through just one pedal. The whole package can be purchased through Gear 4 Music for a brilliant £299.99.
