Schecter 2014 Keith Merrow KM7

Schecter Keith Merrow KM7

The new Schecter Keith Merrow KM7 looks to be an exciting guitar forged from the collaboration between Keith Merrow and Schecter.

Schecter Guitars are ready to ship the latest in their signature series of guitars the Keith Merrow KM7.  Designed in collaboration with Keith Merrow the Keith Merrow KM7 looks set to create a stir as a great looking and sounding seven string guitar.  The guitar should confirm Schecter as the guitar manufacturer of choice for guitarists looking for seven strings.

Keith Merrow is a studio guitar player who has a unique metal guitar sound.  He is always looking to push the limits of his guitar playing hence this collaboration with Schecter.  Commenting on his collaboration with Schecter Keith says “I am very excited to be working with Schecter guitars. We’ve come together to design this incredibly awesome guitar! It’s everything I want and need in a guitar, and I think a lot of people will enjoy it as well”.

The Keith Merrow KM7 is unsurprisingly a seven string guitar.  Cut from swamp ash and topped with flamed maple the body is beautifully contoured and edged with black multi-ply.  The neck is 3 piece maple reinforced with carbon fiber and topped with a 24 fret ebony fingerboard.  The modern ultra thin C profile neck promises to be a dream to play and ideally suited for the virtuosity of Keith Merrow.

In terms of electrics the Keith Merrow KM7 is armed with a pair of Seymour Duncan humbucker pick-ups.  As Keith Merrow is a technical consultant for Seymour Duncan this is perhaps a natural choice of pickups for the guitar.  In the bridge position there is a Seymour Duncan Nazgul Humbucker and a Sentient in the neck position.  The choice of the two humbuckers certainly provides a massive tonal output which should prove to be an exciting combination.

The hardware on the Keith Merrow KM7 comes in the form of a string through body Hipshot Hardtail bridge and Schecter Locking tuners complete the technical specs.

All in all this looks to be a fantastic guitar which should prove to be as classy and innovative as the player who it is named after.
