Learn Guitar With David Brent

Ricky Gervais has recently broken the 2 million hits mark for his You Tube series Learn Guitar with David Brent.

Since launching, on his You Tube channel in May, the series of videos has been watched by 2.2 million visitors, a number that will surely continue to grow.

Brent is the hapless character from the hit BBC TV show The Office created by Gervais and fellow writer and comedian Steve Merchant.  In the series Brent, the manager of Slough based Wernham Hogg a paper company, often refers to his musical past and uses his guitar playing prowess in a number of team building exercises.

Recently Gervais has stated that the internet is the viewing future after his You Tube channel notched up 17 million hits and over 200,000 subscribers in less than a couple of months.

The series, Learn Guitar with David Brent, so far runs to five episodes, and takes the viewer on a musical odyssey where you can learn some of the classic songs from Brents repertoire.  If you have ever wondered how he does it, well don’t worry any more because now you can learn to play such greats as Life on the Road, Spaceman Came Down and Free Love Freeway.

In the latest instalment Brent takes you through Ain’t no Trouble a song which he describes as a little bit reggae and a little bit calypso.  The song features the welcome return of Dom Johnson, the character played by actor Ben Smith, who last duetted with Brent in his song for Comic Relief, Equality Street.

We love the series Learn Guitar With David Brent and think Brent has a great future ahead of him as a guitar teacher should the after dinner motivational speaking gigs dry up!
