The first guitar to bear the Jackson name was custom designed for Randy Rhoads. The guitar proved to be so good that Grover Jackson put his name on it and so a guitar legend was born. With the launch of the new Jackson Pro Rhoads RRT guitars they have taken the original Rhoads design and added a little bit of Pro Series flair.
The Jackson Pro Rhoads RRT3 and RRT5 guitars are a great new re-work of the famous instrument that started it all. The body of the Jackson Pro Rhoads RRT is cut from alder and has a great looking ivory with black pin-stripes paint job. The neck is a three piece through body maple neck with graphite reinforcement rods that gives a quick and sleek feeling playing experience. For those who prefer the bolt on neck design these are available and feature an innovative wrap around 3 bolt neck joint which is rock solid as well as being comfortable to play. The 22 fret neck has an ebony fretboard which has a hand rubbed oil finish which gives a truly amazing playing experience. The 25.5″ scale length neck utilises the Jackson compound radius fingerboard. This is a Jackson innovation where the fingerboard radius gradually flattens towards the heel from its more rounded profile at the nut. This gives a more comfortable playing experience allowing easy chord playing and riffing near the nut and optimum access and playability at the higher frets.
In terms of the bridge you can select models with a Floyd Rose 1000 series tremolo or if you would prefer a fixed bridge you can select the models fitted with the Jackson Hi Mass hard tail and string through body bridge.
The Jackson Pro Rhoads RRT guitars feature humbucker pickups in the bridge and neck position accessed through a three way selector switch. In the bridge position you get a Seymour Duncan JB SH4 humbucker and the neck is a Seymour Duncan Jazz SH2N humbucker. Both are top of the range pick-ups giving great tonal range and versatility. From clean tones to full out distortion these pick-ups deliver a fantastic sound whatever the volume. Whether you are a rocker or full on metal head the pick-up combination on the Jackson Pro Rhoads RRT guitars will give you everything and more to satisfy your needs.
Considering the first Jackson Randy Rhoads signature guitar was developed in the 1980s the design is still fresh and innovative. However, with the Jackson Pro Rhoads RRT guitars a new lease of life has been introduced into a legendary guitar.
